INNERTUNING® WORKSHOP
Sacred Sound vs Sound Pollution
Dates: October 4, 2008 by Sri
Shyamji Bhatnagar, Master of Naada, Creator of Microchakra Psychology
According to the spiritual tradition of ancient India, basic truths of the universe reverberate subtly, eternally and everywhere. They were first heard by unusually gifted seers (intuitives).
These seers appreciated the value of speech fast. They would remain silent for extended periods of time. Today, there are many practical barriers to obtaining long periods of silence. Nevertheless, InnerTuning advises that one dwell in silence as much as possible. It is in silence that our attention may penetrate most deeply within and reveal aspects of ourselves we had not suspected. It is in silence our three bodies (physical, feeling and thought) have the greatest opportunity for integration.
Sound descends in four stages, namely, para, pashyanee, madhyamaa and vaikharee. These stages stem from vibrant energy known as vac. This energy personified is a goddess called Sarasvati. It is through the grace of Sarasvati that the Fifth Chakra is purified, all words spoken become manifest – this phenomenon is known as vac siddhi.
The locus of Sarasvati is the throat and Sarasvati nadi runs through our tongue. The power of speech is tremendous.
In this workshop we will explore how we create karma (actions) that negatively impact not only the purity of speech and our own fifth chakra but also impact the environment.
By learning the four stages of sound, we will make possible changes in not only our ability to be conscious of our speech, but trace its formation. The InnerTuning sounds will be directed towards the fifth chakra, invoking Sarasvati and experiencing profound silence. The workshop will conclude with Sri Shyamji playing the tambura as he chants, this ancient instrument is a favored instrument of the fifth chakra.
